Stefan Goldby’s first full-time job in the entertainment industry came at Music Link Productions in Denver, CO. and Music Link West in Los Angeles, CA.

Stefan initially produced, programmed and (occasionally) hosted a family of television shows airing nightly around midnight on Denver-based PBS station KBDI, including BPM (electronic music), Punk TV (Punk, Ska & Hardcore), Eleven (Hip Hop & Rock) and Music Link (Alternative and Indie) itself. He booked and produced more than 500 artist interviews, working with every record label in America alongside scores of managers, agents and independent publicists during the peak of music television.

A thorough education in the business side of the music industry came through the management and expansion of a retail affiliate network uniting independent record stores with special video endcaps with racking for featured albums of the month. The Retail Network directly drove in-store product sales via events and branded entertainment and the income generated by Music Link supported the TV show production efforts via sponsorship deals with local businesses and national record label marketing budgets alike.

Music Link’s broadcast footprint and retail network were expanded when Goldby relocated to the West Coast to open the Music Link West satellite office and form the Red-Eye Network via new on-air and in-store partnerships in L.A. and Orange County, including Launch.com.

The 8 years at Music Link also provided a full video production skillset via a series of Michael Drumm-directed multi-camera concert shoots which aired on DirecTV, MTV, Music Choice and BET and/or were released as award-winning DVDs and enhanced CDs.
